Katie Ledecky Wins Gold in World Record Time
Impressive Victory in 1500m Freestyle Final

American swimmer Katie Ledecky has set a new world record in the women's 1500m freestyle final at the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia. Ledecky touched the wall in a time of 15:25.48, breaking the previous record set by Australian swimmer Lauren Boyle by over 2 seconds.
The victory marks Ledecky's sixth gold medal at the championships, and her 21st overall in world competition. She becomes the first woman to win the 1500m freestyle world title three times.
Ledecky's performance is the latest in a string of dominant performances by the 18-year-old. She has won every major race she has competed in since the 2016 Rio Olympics, and is now considered one of the greatest female swimmers of all time.
